As the leading soft fruit marketing co-operative in the UK, Berry Gardens is committed to support and develop our growers’ businesses via commissioning or participating in innovative research projects.
Our research activities are overseen by the Grower Research Advisory Panel, which comprises representatives from our grower community covering the various growing regions and crops. The Panel meets four times a year to discuss potential new projects, review existing projects and assess the outcomes of completed projects.
If you would like to know more about our research programme, or discuss any ideas for a research project, please contact Richard Harnden at firstname.lastname@example.org
Currently we are involved in projects that cover a wide range of topics; from automation and robotics, genetics, pest and disease controls, shelf life, and efficient use of water.
Our research partners include the following:
Berry Gardens also leads the Collaborative Training Partnership for Fruit Crop Research, a joint academic and industry body administered by NIAB EMR, which supports a number of PhD studentships per year. Further information can be found from the CTP’s website: www.ctp-fcr.org
