Who is PICK ME for?

PICK ME is a management development programme designed to grow the talent of future leaders and managers. The programme is open to anyone wishing to enter or progress their careers in the fresh produce industry in a management role. We welcome applications from both recent graduates and early career professionals without a degree.

What is the benefit of PICK ME?

PICK ME gives you the chance to learn management skills quickly and to apply them in different jobs and departments.

How many places are there?

There are four places available each September.

Where will I be based?

At our new state-of-the-art pack house and head quarters in Linton, near Maidstone in Kent.

What is the salary?

You will be employed by Berry Gardens with a competitive benefits package on a two-year fixed term contract including 25 days holiday entitlement plus bank holidays.

Will I gain a qualification?

Yes, you will undertake an ILM Level 5 Award in Leadership and Management.

What hours can I expect to work?

Hours of work depend on your secondment responsibilities, the type or role and the business needs of the company.

What secondments are available?

Secondment options may include:

  • Technical
  • Logistics
  • Sales
  • Procurement

Can I choose my secondments?

Trainees’ preferences will be taken into consideration but ultimately, Berry Gardens will assign secondments based on the development needs of each trainee and best season to experience particular departments. The aim is to place people in a variety of roles which both stretch individuals and consolidate developing skills.

What support is available?

Trainees will be mentored by a senior manager at Berry Gardens in addition to the support of the programme manager and secondment manager.
