Berry Gardens supports Local Charity
Berry Gardens Ltd, located near to Maidstone, have raised £1,300 for the Kent, Surrey & Sussex Air Ambulance as their nominated charity for 2016.
Fundraising events at the company featured throughout last year including Berry Gardens very own Berry Bake Off as well as selling copies of the Berry Gardens calendar in support of the work of the Kent, Surrey & Sussex Air Ambulance.
In November last year, the Berry Gardens Golf day raised over £600, with the winner Peter Kenyon, a partner at law firm Cripps Solicitors generously bolstering the money raised to £1,000.
“As a Kent based company, with the majority of our staff living in the area we wanted to support a local charity that can make a significant difference to peoples’ lives. As a company we vote on which charity to support each year and the Air Ambulance was a natural choice for us. Whilst we all hope we will not need the services of the Kent, Surrey & Sussex Air Ambulance it is reassuring to know that through ongoing fundraising it is available 365 days of the year. We are really proud to donate to such a great cause.” says Jacqui Green from Berry Gardens.
Julie Clare from Kent, Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulance adds ‘”the support from Berry Gardens is fantastic. Support and generosity from local businesses makes a real difference to us – it means we can continue our life-saving work, reaching the most critically ill and injured patients who need us.”
Berry Gardens has two sites in Kent, its Head Office just outside of Tunbridge Wells and pack house near to Maidstone supported by several local farms. The company specialize in berries and cherries and over 40 years is the largest and most innovative growers group in the UK with a predicted turnover in 2016 in excess of £300million.
