Scottish blueberries arrive early to keep British retailers supplied, 2011 is proving to be another exceptional season for British grown blueberries (Vaccinium corymbosum), as the Scottish crop moves into full production over the next two months to fulfil the requirements of UK retailers. UK sales of fresh picked blueberries have continued their strong growth as consumers buy more locally grown produce. Berry Gardens predicts that this season its growers will bring 350 tonnes of the berries to the retail market.  read more
